Lionel Scaloni and his coaching staff’s presence on the pitch at Newell’s was one of the images of the day in Rosario. The group attended the Rio de la Plata classic between Argentina and Uruguay at the Juegos Suramericanos, at the Coloso del Parque.
The match ended in a win for the side managed by Diego Placente by 1-0, thanks to a goal from Franco Domínguez Ávila. That was the only difference in a match that left the Argentine delegation under the watchful eye of the national team coaching staff.
Scaloni’s visit and that of his staff were also acknowledged by Newell’s hierarchy, who hosted the world champions after the match. The Albiceleste coach’s presence in Rosario is part of the usual monitoring of the national team’s work and of the players who make up its competitive structures.
