Apertura & Clausura1991/92–2011/12
Two short tournaments per season, each crowning its own champion.
European-style season1985/86–1990/91
A single long tournament per season (July to June), European style.
Metropolitano & Nacional1967–1985
Two championships per year: the Metropolitano (directly affiliated clubs) and the Nacional (open to interior clubs), with zone stages and final phases that changed by edition.
Annual championships1931–1966
One round-robin championship per year. Run by the professional Liga Argentina de Football from 1931; by the reunified AFA from 1934/35.
Copa Argentina1969–2026
The national single-elimination cup, open to clubs of every division. Relaunched in 2011; the inaugural 1969 edition was won by Boca.
Supercopa Argentina2012–2024
A one-off match between the league champion and the Copa Argentina winner. Played since 2012.
Trofeo de Campeones2019–2025
The final between the champions of the year's two tournaments. Since 2019.
Supercopa Internacional2022–2024
League champion against Trofeo de Campeones winner, played abroad between 2022 and 2024.
