Duró resigned at Riestra after defeat to Instituto in Alta Córdoba

Guillermo Duró tendered his resignation as head coach of Riestra after the 1-0 defeat against Instituto in Alta Córdoba. The departure of the DT came at a sensitive moment for El Malevo, who have now piled up six defeats in the Torneo Clausura and are going through a difficult spell in the battle to avoid relegation.

An abrupt ending after 12 matches without a win

Duró's spell came to an end after 12 matches without victory, a run that ultimately sped up his decision to step aside. The team, moreover, remains embroiled in the fight to avoid relegation and will now have to regroup without its coach.

The defeat in Córdoba left Riestra exposed in a scenario where every point matters a great deal: on one hand, the urgency of adding points to get out of the most delicate stretch of the table; on the other, the need to settle a squad that was unable to break its negative streak.

What's next for El Malevo

With the resignation now confirmed, Riestra will have to rebuild ahead of its next fixture, which will be on Saturday against Talleres. The immediate priority will be to stabilize the sporting situation amid an adverse campaign in the Clausura.

• Outgoing coach: Guillermo Duró
• Last match: 1-0 defeat to Instituto
• Run: 12 games without a win
• Next opponent: Talleres
• Competitive context: battle to avoid relegation

The coach's departure opens a new chapter for a side that arrives wounded and with less and less room to maneuver. Now, Riestra will have to quickly sort out how it moves forward in the most demanding part of the tournament.
