The final matchday of the Clausura will move to midweek because of changes to the security operation
The Liga Profesional will have to reshuffle the end of the Torneo Clausura regular stage because of a change tied to security operations. The change also affects the Primera Nacional, where the final for the first promotion and the start of the Reducido will be postponed.
The closing stretch of the Torneo Clausura has been affected by a schedule change that will force the final matchday to be played midweek. The measure was taken because APREVIDE will not provide services between viernes 6 and miércoles 11, while the Comité de Seguridad de CABA will do the same through martes 10 inclusive.
An altered finish for security reasons
According to the information released, the Liga Profesional still has to officially confirm the schedule, something that will happen this jueves at the Committee meeting. Until then, the outcome of the Clausura regular stage remains subject to a special schedule that rearranges the competition's final date.
The decision comes in a decisive stretch of the tournament, with teams still fighting for qualification and with the annual table in full definition.
The Primera Nacional also shifts
The reshuffle does not affect only the Liga Profesional. In the Primera Nacional, the final for the first promotion will be postponed by one week, as will the start of the Reducido, scheduled for 14 y 15 de noviembre, always in line with the security scenario that is shaping the Argentine football calendar.
In addition, the final for the second promotion to Primera División will be played on 19 de diciembre.
What comes next in the closing stretch of the regular stage
While the Liga finalizes the schedule, with two matchdays left the Clausura playoff bracket has already started to take shape and the battle for the Tabla Anual remains open as well, with several teams still having mathematical chances.
The Liga Profesional, then, is heading into a key week not only for what happens on the pitch, but also because of the need to adjust a calendar shaped by external constraints. The closing of the Clausura will remain subject to the official confirmation of the definitive schedule.
