A changing semifinal in Salta

The match was played at the Padre Ernesto Martearena stadium, with Sebastián Zunino as the main referee. The Decano had started better and went ahead with a goal from Renzo Tesuri at 36 minutes of the first half.

But Platense did not lose its composure. At the start of the second half, it found the equalizer through Nicolás Retamar, who scored with a header at 13 minutes to level things up and take the tie to a penalty shootout.

  • Atlético Tucumán had gone ahead 1-0.
  • Nicolás Retamar made it 1-1.
  • The tie was settled on penalties in favor of Platense.

Palermo, once again in a final with the Calamar

The qualification carries a lot of weight for Martín Palermo, who is taking Platense to a decisive stage once again. The Calamar will play for the title in the national cup and has thus reached its second final and its fourth in three years.

After the qualification, the coach left a phrase that sums up the team's moment:

Martín Palermo: “This group shows ambition until the end”.

Now, Platense is waiting for the outcome on the other side of the bracket, with Boca and Banfield as possible opponents in the final.

What comes next for the national tournament
