Tigre struck with greater precision and took a 2-0 win that contrasted with Huracán's possession

Huracán controlled the ball more and took more shots, but Tigre were far more efficient and ended up winning 2-0. The difference came down to precision: the visitors scored at key moments and held on to the result even while trailing in possession.

Huracán fell 0-2 to Tigre at the Estadio Tomas Adolfo Duco, in a match where the numbers tell a clear paradox: the home side had 58% possession, took 17 shots and managed only 2 on target, but finished without a goal. On the other side, Tigre generated less overall volume of play, but were much more effective: they arrived 12 times, hit the target with 4 shots and scored in the two moments that swung the afternoon.

Tactical reading

The most striking stat is that Huracán finished with more of the ball, more shots and, even so, an attacking output that did not translate into goals. Their 1 goal-scoring chance against Tigre's 0.6 shows that the home team did manage to spend more time in the opposition half, but without turning that possession into sustained danger against the other goal. The gap between 17 shots and just 2 on target sums up the problem well: there were attempts, but little accuracy.

Tigre, meanwhile, played with a different logic. With 42% possession, less circulation and less territorial presence, they found better finishes: 4 shots on target from 12 attempts. That record explains why the result ended up favoring the visitors even though they created less with the ball. In addition, Tigre's 4-2-3-1 gave them a more compact structure to see out the match and take advantage of the right moments, while Huracán, with 4-4-2, could not turn their greater possession into higher-value chances.

Discipline also played a part: Huracán picked up 4 yellow cards and Tigre 2, and the sending-off of F. Pereyra in the 87' minute left the home side in a very difficult position to try to mount a response. Control of the match, which had already been more favorable to the visitors in terms of efficiency, was definitively tilted after that red card.

The standouts

The ratings also reinforce Tigre's individual edge in performance:

  • J. Domina was the best on the pitch with 8.1 and also opened the scoring with the goal in the 48' minute.
  • P. Martinez posted 7.7 and was among the winner's top performers.
  • T. Serrago also had 7.7 and capped his night with the 2-0 in the 90+7' minute.

No ratings appear for Huracán in the block, so the strongest individual reference from the match is on Tigre's side, where the numbers back up a highly efficient display in both boxes.

The turning point came with J. Domina's goal in the 48' minute. From there, Huracán were forced to chase the game in a match in which they had more possession but could not find real depth. F. Pereyra's sending-off in the 87' minute closed off any chance of a comeback, and T. Serrago's goal in the 90+7' minute sealed a victory that Tigre had handled well on the basis of efficiency.

In short, the 2-0 shows a match in which Huracán had more of the ball and more shots, but Tigre produced better chances, had the highest-rated individuals and settled the contest in the two decisive moments.
