El Matador beat Central Córdoba 2-1 in Victoria and snapped a run of three straight games without a win. With a very solid first half, Diego Dabove's side briefly climbed to third place in its group.
The 1-1 left a fairly balanced reading: Racing created chances worth 1.2 and Boca 0.9, in a contest with shared possession and very little room between them. The gap in shots was not enough to break a game that was well reflected in the final score.
River Plate had 57% possession and took more shots, but Vélez were more efficient and ended up taking the match to a 2-2 draw that was even both on the scoreline and in what each side created. The standout figure was the balance between production and the slim difference in clear chances, with a finish that stayed open until the end.
