Barracas won in Tucumán, moved into the playoff zone and complicated River

Barracas Central under Nicolás Orsini took home a massive win in Tucumán and made a huge leap in Zona B of the Torneo Clausura. With that result, the Guapo moved into the top eight in the competition.

The news also hit hard because of its impact on the table: the result against Atlético Tucumán left River out of the qualification spots at this stage. On a day with plenty at stake, Barracas got the job done in a match that was worth double, both for the immediate objective and for how it shifted the shape of the group.

A win that changes the picture of Zona B

The most important part of the round was the battle for the top positions, and Barracas took its chance. The team picked up a result that allows it to settle into the decisive stretch of the tournament, in a zone that had been very tight and with several clubs waiting in the wings.

• Barracas Central beat Atlético Tucumán.
• Nicolás Orsini scored a brace.
• The Guapo finished among the top eight in Zona B.
• The result left River out of the playoff places in this Clausura.

What the round left behind for the Clausura

The round also shifted the conversation around qualification, with Zona B entering a stretch of maximum tension. Barracas made the most of its match and earned the big prize of the night: staying alive in the title race.

On the other side, the blow was a double one for Atlético Tucumán, which could not hold up in a direct clash for the playoff places. The zone became even more demanding, with every point worth gold in the final straight.

What comes next

With Barracas already among the eight, the focus now turns to maintaining the level, because the real battle is only just beginning and any slip-up can shift everything again.

In that race, the Guapo has already done its part: it won, it added points and it got in. Now, the challenge will be to stay among the eight best.
