Boca have already secured their place in the Torneo Clausura playoffs
Vasco Arruabarrena's side secured their place in the Torneo Clausura knockout stage and now await the draw for the bracket. In addition, the end of 2026 finds them with three other fronts still open: the Copa Argentina, the Copa Sudamericana and the already clinched Anual Table title.
Boca confirmed one of their goals for the final stretch and are already among the 16 teams qualified for the Torneo Clausura playoffs. With the regular phase practically wrapped up, Vasco Arruabarrena's side now looks ahead to the final shape of the bracket while awaiting the outcome of the last pending match of the round.
A 2026 finish with several fronts still open
The Xeneize outlook is clear: in addition to the ticket to the Clausura knockout stage, the team has already secured the Tabla Anual and still has two competitions on the horizon in its bid to end the season with more trophies.
The commitments still ahead are:
- the Copa Argentina semifinal,
- the Copa Sudamericana final,
- and the Torneo Clausura playoffs.
Qualification for the Clausura comes in a scenario in which the final order of Zona A still needs to be confirmed, something that will depend on what happens between Lanús and Central Córdoba. With the bracket already set, the only thing left is to find out how the teams will be placed in order to set up the final matchups.
The coaching staff's view after the title
After being crowned in the Tabla Anual, Arruabarrena gave a straightforward take on the club's moment and the value of having met the year's first objective.
Vasco Arruabarrena: “The important thing is having achieved a goal we had. Now, celebrate a little and then get back to work. We've had a while of eating shit; the club and everyone deserve it”.
The coach also stressed that the celebration does not change the roadmap: the idea is to celebrate what has been achieved and return to work immediately, with the focus on what comes next.
A squad focused on the final stretch
From the dressing room side, several voices highlighted the importance of the coach and the sustained work since last semester. Among them, Leandro Paredes emphasized the experience the coach brings to the group, while Miguel Merentiel expressed his surprise and joy at the achievement.
Leandro Paredes: “The Vasco gave us experience, he is a person who has won everything at the club, he makes us understand what the world of Boca is”.
Miguel Merentiel: “I can't believe it, this is huge. It's work from last semester, with Úbeda”.
With the first objective met and qualification already secured, Boca enters a decisive stage in which every match can bring them closer to a season with four titles on the line.
